This is a 1-minute loop animation project that grows from my observation of how digital platforms shape emotion and behaviour through images and algorithms: short-video loops, predictive feeds, and attention broken into faster, smaller stimuli. What feels like free choice is often a feedback system that reorganises our focus, emotional responses, and daily rhythm.

I translate this mechanism into a visual narrative of looped watching and predicted affect. Informed by research on surveillance capitalism, cyborg, posthuman discourse, and affect theory, I depict the subject as something continuously read, predicted, and adjusted by a system, while searching for a counter-gesture through material friction and “useful distortion”.

Riso printing becomes the core medium precisely because it resists digital smoothness: misregistration, halftone grain, ink build-up, and controlled unpredictability. I separate images into colour layers, scan and overprint iteratively, and treat printing errors as narrative signals. The printed outcomes are then re-scanned and arranged into a loop animation, reinforcing platform time: refresh, return, repeat, difficult to stop.
